Mingo Tennis Inclusion is our adaptive tennis program that support the lives of individuals with autism and physical disabilities to play the sport of tennis. The program connecting youths and adults through the game of tennis tennis has been our goal for the last two years. Our clinics helps develop players motor skills, confidence, hand eye coordination and improve their general socialization, with fun activities, within a controlled environment.
For Steve Mingo—who was awarded USTA Eastern’s DEI Leadership Award for 2023—participating in such a joyful event ultimately has given him the confidence to expand his coaching efforts to also include adaptive students.
“I was always nervous about how adaptive players might receive my coaching,” he said. “After partnering up with Nick, it’s made me comfortable and ready to start working with the adaptive community. I want to encourage every coach to step into this space.”
Our program sites location is Williamsbridge Oval Park, Bronx, New York. For summer registration click here.
